The University Security Team operates 24/7 all year round if students require support on campus and can be contacted in emergency situations by calling 0161 247 2222 or by using the SafeZone App

Personal Safety
Some student services may be closed in line with University closure dates (Sat 23 Dec - Mon 01 Jan inclusive). Full details of which areas of the university are open and when during Christmas/New Year. Most campus buildings, catering outlets and specialist teaching spaces will be closed. A number of services will remain open and you can still access online resources, including:
Library
The Library will remain open 24/7 during the break and open every day! Visit the Library website for more information.
IT support
For any IT issues, please call: 0161 247 4646 or access live chat 24/7 over the winter break.
Study Support
The Academic and Study Skills Service, including the Writing Project,& is closed during the break. If you would like help during this period, then you are able to access a range of screencasts, videos, and resources for all our courses and workshops on Moodle.
Wellbeing Support
A new, 24/7 student support line is available. It will be open throughout the winter break offering mental health and wellbeing support. You can call for free on 0808 238 9888 (calls from overseas will be charged). Also, students can still access a range of resources including self-help wellbeing pages, 24/7 wellbeing and mental health support via Togetherall, and our wellbeing podcasts.
Crisis and out of hours support
Please call 999 if you are in serious distress, or in danger of harming yourself or others. Alternatively:
- Go to the Accident and Emergency Department at your local hospital. The nearest to Manchester Met is the Manchester Royal Infirmary 0161 276 4147
- Call the Greater Manchester NHS Mental Health Helpline available 24/7 on 0800 953 0285
- Contact your GP (Doctor) to request an urgent appointment or Call NHS 111
- SHOUT provides text-based crisis support. Text SHOUT to 85258
- Call Samaritans 116 123 (free to call, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year)
- Call SANEline 0300 304 7000 (4:30pm - 10:30pm, 365 days a year)
Inclusions and Disabiity Service
The Inclusion and Disability Service will close at 4:30pm on Thursday 6 April for the Easter break and will reopen at 9:00am on Tuesday 11 April. You can find details on how to disclose to the service and the support we can offer to you on our webpages.

- True Vision: Offers guidance on reporting hate crime and hate incidents. There is an online form for reporting hate crime and hate incidents to the police or you can report and remain anonymous.
